About Me

Hello and welcome! My name is Julie. I’m a former international flight attendant living in the midwest. I recently hung up my wings and I’m now hosting exciting girls group trips for the solo female traveler.

You may be wondering, “why is this website called Lucy Loves Travel when her name is Julie?” Great question! Well, for ten years my travel companion was my dog Lucy. We went on many adventures together. With Colorado as our home we drove all over the west and southwest, seeing and experiencing things together and making great memories. She’s been to more places than the average American for sure. Unfortunately Lucy passed away in 2021. That year brought so many unexpected changes in my life, I moved, I changed flight attendant bases and I felt completely lost. In the past, if ever I felt compelled to shake things up all I had to do was grab Lucy and a way we would go, off to make more memories and have fun. She was the best travel companion a girl could ask for.

Since then I have found it extremely difficult to go off on my own adventures solo. “Why not travel with your girlfriends?” you may ask. That would be my dream come true to have all my besties in one location having the time of our lives! But we all know it’s nearly impossible to get everyone on board with the when and where and what and how much, right?! So my solution? I’ve curated trips that balance culture, history, wildlife, cuisine, nightlife, off the beaten path, water and fun!

If this sounds like something you would enjoy then come join me and a small group of like minded women. All trips will be planned from start to finish and there will be ample free time to just relax or be on your own for a bit as well.

Experience pura vida on this equally adventurous and relaxing trip. This trip originates in San Juan with a city tour and traditional dinner. Adventure awaits us in La Fortuna where we’ll zipline, dip in waterfalls and relax in hot springs. And finally we’ll hit the beach and check out the nightlife in the vibrant town of Tamarindo.
